Friday February 24th, 2017- First Video
Hi guys! For my first YouTube video I have decided i will be making an into to my channel video. I will go over some of the topics that I want to go over on my channel and things like that. I already know a little bit about editing on iMovie, and I'm going to use that knowledge and look up other tips online on how to polish up my edits. These first few weeks took a lot of contemplating and decision making, especially when it came to if I really wanted to do this, and what would I do on this channel. I have done a lot of Googling on how to make a successful YouTube channel. I have talked to my mom about helping me with this project because when she was around my age she was interested in video making like me. She has given me a lot of great advice about what i should do. An expert on making a successful YouTube channel would be someone like Shane Dawson, https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwj07NXC0qnSAhXM7yYKHUmxCjwQFggaMAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fuser%2Fshane&usg=AFQjCNEiysXL1i2pPXgNlno0F3EkDONlJQ&sig2=Ub2VgDpyXPIAbBPKavMfTA&bvm=bv.148073327,d.eWE, whose videos I've enjoyed since I was little. Another expert I might be able to contact could be Lucas Cruikshank who has had two very successful YouTube channels, one as Fred Figglehorn and one as himself.

Needs and Opportunities
Are you solving a problem
for yourself or others? How will this project be a learning and growing
experience? What is your goal?
I am solving a problem for myself. I am
learning how to be more open and interactive with others. I this project will
help me learn more about video making, and expand my knowledge on the subject.
My goal for this project is to learn more about film and video making.
Audience / Clients / Users
Explain who will benefit
from your project. Who is your audience – who might be interested in following
your blog and learning about your project?
I think people who enjoy
wacky thing will be interested in this project. Also, just if you enjoy random,
kind of quirky things you might be into this. My audience is mainly kids my age
who would probably know and understand what I’m talking about.
Mentors
Who can help you with this
project? Who will you need to contact and what will you ask them to commit to
in helping you?
I think my mom might be
able to help me a little with this project. Maybe a librarian or just someone
who has ever made a good quality video. I might contact some people who make YouTube
videos and ask their advice. No one big name or anything.
Timeline
What is your monthly
timeline for this project? I want to see a list of deliverables with deadlines.
You may find that the timeline needs adjustment during the course of the year,
which may be fine. Check in with me if that’s the case.

Product
What is the actual product
you will show this spring? This project may or may not be made of atoms or
bits, but you must have something to show. I’m not interested seeing a bunch of
great ideas at the end of the year. I want to see things.
I will show you a couple of
my YouTube videos
Technology
You will have to use
technology in some way on presentation day – think about how you can use the
tools available to add life into your project and enhance what you are doing.
(Video, laptops, apps, cell phones, music, etc.)
My laptop or my phone
Reality Check
I am looking for you to
shoot for the moon here and do anything you can dream of, but even moonshots
need budgets. What equipment are you going to need? What other capital
expenditures do you anticipate, and how will you meet them?
I will need a tripod and
thing like a lens for my phone. I don’t think I need a fancy camera or
anything. I will probably need a new lamp for good lighting and stuff. I have
been saving up money for these things to buy them.
Possible Roadblocks
What other roadblocks can
you predict – time, resources, motivation etc. Explain what you might do when
you come to each roadblock to reach your goal.
I might not have a video up
when it needs to be or I might not feel like thinking of an idea or posting it.
I will try to remind myself that it’s supposed to be fun and for school
Conclusion
Wrap it up. Why are you
fired up about this project? Inspire me to support you, and give me a great
reason to approve your project.
I’m excited for this
project because I’ve always liked making films and stuff like that. I have also
always wanted to make a YouTube channel. I think you should approve this
project because everyone likes YouTube even if they use it for different
things.
